Couples and Sex Therapy Case Consultation Group
Advanced, Decision-Focused Supervision for Couples Therapists
Working with couples often means working inside complexity: competing narratives, emotional escalation, power struggles, sexual disconnection, and decisions that carry real consequences.
This two sessions per month Couples Therapy Case Consultation Group is designed for therapists who want sharper formulation, clearer intervention strategy, and decisive thinking when cases feel stuck or high-stakes.
This is not reflective supervision or emotional support for therapists. It is structured, specialist case consultation led by Randi Levinson, an experienced couples therapist and supervisor.
WHO THIS GROUP IS FOR
This group is best suited for therapists who:
• Work regularly with couples
• Feel stuck or uncertain in specific cases
• Want clearer formulation and direction
• Are navigating high-conflict, polarized, or emotionally charged dynamics
• Prefer structured consultation over open-ended discussion
This group is not intended for trainees seeking licensure hours or therapists looking primarily for emotional processing or peer support.
WHAT WE WORK ON
Cases brought to the group may include:
• Chronic conflict and polarization
• Sexual disconnection or desire discrepancy
• Power, resentment, and control dynamics
• Infidelity, trust rupture, or disclosure aftermath
• Stay-or-go decision points
• Couples caught in repetitive, entrenched patterns
• Ethical and clinical decision-making in complex relational work
The focus is always on what is actually happening and what to do next.
HOW THE GROUP WORKS
This is a small, contained, case-based consultation group.
Group structure:
• 8 therapists maximum
• 75-minute monthly session
• 1–2 cases per meeting
• Case presenter submits a brief outline in advance
• Sessions are led and structured — not a free-for-all
As facilitator, I guide:
• Case formulation
• Identification of core dynamics and blind spots
• Intervention strategy
• Ethical and clinical decision-making
• Next-step clarity
The goal is precision and direction, not prolonged discussion.
IMPORTANT ETHICAL NOTE
This group provides consultative, specialist supervision and does not count toward licensure or statutory supervision requirements.
